Session Description

Session Description: The purpose of this session is to explore advances in modeling the relationship between health and labor market participation near standard retirement ages. Using diverse approaches, the three papers in this session extend the literature by the role of psychological well-being in the decisions to exit and re-enter the labor market, the relative role of health and financial incentives in the decision to leave the labor market, and the role (increasing) medical expenditures play in the retirement decision.
